Croeso / Welcome to Typoeth Cottage!

Typoeth Cottage is in an ideal location for getting away from the worries and turmoil of daily life, where you can have a wonderful holiday in West Wales.  The cottage is situated in a small valley surrounded by beautiful green fields and woodland.  It has a secluded garden with a small stream and if you are lucky you could see an otter! Among the many varied birds, red kites and herons can regularly be seen flying in the valley.  If you are worried that Typoeth is too secluded, the small town of Llandysul is less than 10 minutes drive away, with several shops, pubs and restaurants.

Typoeth means warm house and this rural retreat lives up to its name, being light and cheerful in summer and having both central heating and a multi-fuel stove for colder days. This is an 18th century listed cottage that was once inhabited by a family with 6 children, but has been lovingly modernised to provide a comfortable home away from home.

Dogs are welcome at Typoeth Cottage and Suzanna can provide a Dog Training Course for you and your pet by prior arrangement.

Horses are also welcome at Typoeth Cottage as stabling and grazing is available.

Typoeth Cottage is an ideal centre for visiting both the Cardigan Coast and Carmarthen Bay, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, The Brecon Beacons National Park, the Gower peninsular.

There are NO high season increases and there is a DISCOUNT for single occupancy.

There are plenty of activities nearby. For walkers, one of the Carmarthenshire County walks passes the cottage and the Teifi Trail is nearby as are Brechfa Forest and Llanybydder mountain. Brechfa mountain bike trails are a short drive away.

There is a variety of beaches to choose from, New Quay is about 30 minutes drive.

The Paddlers in Llandysul offer canoeing, abseiling and other outdoor activities on the River Teifi.  However for something more relaxing on the river,  fishing can be arranged with the Llandysul Angling Association or the Teifi Trout Association.

For anybody interested in the heritage of Wales, there are castles, museums, woollen mills and the opportunity to hear Welsh spoken as a first language in the area.

Both the National Botanic Gardens and Aberglasney Gardens are within easy reach.

Llandysul is the home to the Harp Centre of Wales, Telynau Teifi which is the only place in Wales where harps are commercially made.

West Wales has developed as an area for good locally produced food, including organic meat, cheeses, fruit and vegetables. At the end of June the local town, Llandysul holds a Food Festival which showcases many of these producers.  To tantilise your tastebuds, a welcome hamper of local produce awaits you on arrrival.

Dutch and French spoken and I am happy to help you with you English conversation.
